What is therapy? How is therapy different from talking to friends or family?
Therapy is a unique opportunity to have a trained professional help you think objectively about yourself and your struggles. A therapist helps you to develop coping skills, manage your emotional states and gain perspective.
There may be ongoing or recent life complications that you need help getting through. We will work together to help you manage how you are feeling, thinking and responding to life’s difficulties.
What is the benefit of Online Therapy?
People have busy lives. It can be difficult to find a therapist you like, who is nearby and has the availability you need. Some people are in situations where it is difficult to leave the house, such as bed rest in pregnancy or during early postpartum with an infant. Online therapy helps to take away some of the barriers to getting the help you need.
The sessions are secure, confidential and HIPPA compliant. This ensures the same safe space as if you were in my office, but from the comfort of your own home.
Do you offer a consultation?
Yes: I offer a 10 minute free phone consultation to discuss my services. I can get a sense of what your needs are and answer any questions you may have about therapy in my practice.
I also offer a 10 minute online video consultation through Regroup Therapy. Some people like to experience the online format to see what it’s like. After our consultation, If we decide to work together, we can discuss setting up our ongoing appointments.
What are your fees?
My weekly therapy fee is comparable to other Psychologists for ongoing therapy. Sessions are generally weekly, however there is some availability for sessions every other week. I also offer short term Transitions Packages of 6 or 12 sessions. We can discuss fees during our consultation.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Magellan Insurance.
Also, if your insurance carrier is a PPO that offers “out of network” coverage, you can contact your insurance to see what their reimbursement rate and how many sessions they cover. I can provide a super bill for you to submit to your insurance company.
I require 24 hours advance notice of cancellation for return visits. If the appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment, you will be charged the session fee.
I require 24 hours advance notice of cancellation for an initial visit. If an initial intake appointment is not cancelled with 24 hours advanced notice, a deposit will be required in order to reschedule and hold the second attempt at an intake appointment.
